Federal-Public Lands Technology Transfer Activities

Diana Nomura, a BSCE student at the University of Hawaii, Manoa, examined traffic problems at popular rural tourist attractions on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. In January 2020, she presented her study at a poster session on low-volume roads at the Transportation Research Board (TRB) 99th Annual Meeting in Washington D.C. As part of the Transportation Research Board’s Committee on Transportation Needs of National Parks and Public Lands Spring 2020 Technology Transfer Webinar, Ms. Nomura provided a summary of the project.  A recording of this presentation, “Traffic Problems at Popular Tourist Attractions: Laniakea Beach and Pupukea Traffic Congestion” may be found here:
