Project #: 4W2594
Start Date: 04/22/2009
End Date: 05/31/2009
Status: Completed
ABSTRACT:

In the spring of 2009, the American Water Resources Association (AWRA) will host a specialty conference in Anchorage, Alaska, to be attended by professionals in the fields of transportation, energy and environmental resources. The conference represents a valuable forum for networking and educational opportunities. At the conference, the Alaska section of AWRA, the Intelligent Transportation Society (ITS) Alaska, and the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (ADOT&PF) will sponsor a workshop on transportation and technology collaborations, with the goal of promoting partnerships between agencies. Through this project, WTI will develop the content for the workshop, which will include topics such as sharing resources (leveraging funding, co-locating equipment, sharing data), developing multi-modal projects (airports, harbors, roads), and identifying multi-disciplinary data needs (climatology, hydrology, habitat, traffic data). WTI researchers will serve as presenters and facilitators for the workshop.

OBJECTIVE:

The goal of this project is to develop and present a training workshop on transportation and technology partnerships for the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities.
