Analyzing Transportation Choices for Park County Wyoming

Started: January, 2016 Ended: June, 2016 Project ID #4W5923 Status: Completed

Objective

The purpose of this project is to investigate the feasibility of implementing public transportation services in Park County, Wyoming, to serve two or more of the communities in the county.

Abstract

Park County, Wyoming includes the communities of Cody (the County Seat), Powell and Meeteetse. Cody is the largest (most populated) of the communities (towns) in the county, with a population estimated at 9,740 people in 2014, with Powell’s population estimated at 6,407 people and Meeteetse with 327 people. It is approximately 24 miles from Cody to Powell, and 31 miles from Cody to Meeteetse. While there is commuting between these communities, people have to rely on their own transportation, as there is no public transportation services to link these communities. The purpose of this project is to investigate the feasibility of implementing public transportation services in Park County to serve two or more of the communities in the county.
