This project will explore modern approaches, such as a smartphone application, to sharing information about Montana’s 295 road and rest area interpretive markers in a way that ensures driver safety and minimizes distractions.
Benefits: Improving the sharing of interpretive markers can boost economic development by attracting both in-state and out-of-state visitors. As Montana’s second-largest industry, travel and tourism heavily relies on promoting the state’s rich history and culture. Expanding access to these markers would enhance the state’s tourism economy, particularly in areas where the historical markers are located.
