Objective
To conduct a summer program for high school participants, particularly Native American students, to increase their interest in pursuing transportation-related degrees and employment.
Abstract
WTI’s Summer Transportation Institute is an educational program designed to heighten the interest of high school students in pursuing careers in transportation. In particular, Native American students from regional tribal high schools will be targeted in an effort to increase cultural diversity of students pursuing transportation-related degrees and careers. A balanced curriculum offered over four weeks will include a comprehensive academic program, field trips and site visits, guest speakers, career and college counseling, and recreational activities. This will be a residential program at Montana State University-Bozeman.
