Melissa Norling

Research Assistant III, Center for Health & Safety Culture

Melissa Norling is a Research Assistant III at the Center for Health and Safety Culture (CHSC) in the Western Transportation Institute at Montana State University. Melissa studied Criminal Justice at Boise State University. She worked as a Commissioned Deputy Sheriff at the Ada County Sheriff’s Department for eight years. Much of that time was spent working in the detention facility, the medical department of the detention facility, and at the Ada County Courthouse. She is currently a stay at home mom of three young daughters. She recently moved to Puyallup, Washington, where she is currently homeschooling her children. She enjoys soccer, basketball, hiking, and exploring new places with her children. She enjoys the opportunity to code for the Center in her spare time.
