Started: November, 2015 End Date: October, 2016 Project ID #4W5844 Status: Ongoing
Objective
The objective of the Traffic Safety Culture Transportation Pooled Fund (TSC TPF) Program is to conduct research, training, education, and technology transfer related to solving specific culture-based traffic safety problems.
Abstract
WTI’s Center for Health and Safety Culture has been named the Program Support Agency for the Traffic Safety Culture Transportation Pooled Fund (TSC TPF) Program. The Center will provide ongoing support to MDT, the Pooled Fund program, and the Program members for first year of the program and seek to renew the contract on an annual basis for the length of the program. The TSC TPF Program is a partnership between nine state DOTs and WTI to (1) conduct research to solve specific culture-based traffic safety problems, (2) create training and education materials to enhance workforce understanding and application of traffic safety culture methods, and (3) provide technology transfer of best practices in traffic safety culture methods to all stakeholders. Together, these efforts will support the transformation of traffic safety culture within the families, communities, and organizations of participating states.
